The King is Dead: the board game will arrive in September

Supernova Studio announced that the awaited second edition of The King is Dead, in its Italian localization, will arrive in September.

Let’s take a closer look at this power and succession game set in medieval Britain.

The King is Dead coming in September

The title of Peer Sylvester, illustrated in this second edition by Benoit Billion, had already been anticipated towards the end of 2020. The release was initially scheduled for spring 2021, but unfortunately the launch date on the local market has been postponed by a few months. We now have more accurate information for those who can’t wait to join the fray to get the coveted Crown of the Island on their heads.

It is a title for 2 to 4 players, in which the contenders can take the sides of 4 factions fighting after the sovereign’s departure: English, Welsh, Scottish and foreign invaders ready to exploit the chaos that reigns on the island. Despite a fairly linear game flow and suitable for all players, the title offers considerable depth and challenge; the players particularly appreciated the novelties of the second edition.

In games of a fairly short duration, between 30 and 45 minutes, through area control mechanics and card hand management, we will be able to test all the features of the new edition, from the renewed graphics to the asymmetrical powers for the factions suitable for the advanced game.

The King is Dead will arrive on our tables, thanks to Studio Supernova (It’s a Wonderful World, Nidavellir), next September.
