Velilla Group has large expansion plans planned. The Spanish multinational family company with more than 70 years of experience in the labor textile sector, is going to double the capacity of its logistics center located in the Romica industrial estate in Albacete by 2024. In this way, it will go from 17,000 square meters built to almost 30,000, which will make it the largest labor textile logistics center in Spain.
Currently, the company has a state-of-the-art logistics center located on a 56,000-square-meter plot, which is capable of storing more than 10 million garments and supply more than 250,000 orders in 48 hours a year. With this expansion, and in a first phase, which will end at the end of this year, the center will have the capacity to store and move more than 24 million garments.
Enrique Fernández Allén, CEO of Velilla Group, adds that “The expansion of the logistics center is a differential factor. Our unstoppable growth in recent years has led us to have to work much faster, so continuing to invest in our logistics network is essential. Immediacy is something basic in our day to day and it is what we want to continue building on to consolidate ourselves as a leading workwear company in Spain and continue with our international expansion”.

With the expansion of its logistics center, the company will create new direct and indirect jobs in the region. This growth in the number of employees positions the company as an active generator of wealth, since in the last 12 years it has created 128 new jobs, thus increasing its workforce by 168%. Of which, 39% are located at the headquarters in Madrid, 43% in Albacete and 18% in Portugal.
The increase in its facilities is linked to its turnover, since the Velilla Group has increased its sales in the last 10 years, with a year-on-year increase of between 10% and 12%, closing 2022 with 86 million euros of turnoverno. In addition, the number of orders and clients of the company has also been increasing exponentially in recent years. These events, added to their sustained growth in recent years, have led them to expand their warehouse in order to obtain greater capacity.
In fact, during the past year, the company made a significant increase in stock in storage and picking, in order to improve the quality of customer service, both nationally and internationally.
