Thanks to an agreement reached a few days ago, the HBO Max platform is available again on Amazon Prime in the United States. This partnership suggests access to HBO Max content like The Last of Us from the Amazon service in France.
Just a week ago, HBO unveiled the final trailer for the series The Last of Us. Something to seriously whet the appetite of all fans of the license who are impatiently awaiting this adaptation of the games made by Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog teams.
Regarding the release date, we know that the show will land on HBO Max from January 15, 2023 in the United States. For France, on the other hand, the launch of the series has not yet found a date. The fault in particular at the end of the agreement between OCS and HBO, which allowed the Orange service to be the exclusive broadcaster of HBO series in France. This partnership will end in January 2023.
HBO Max returns to Amazon Prime Video channels
Nevertheless, good news has just reached us from the land of Uncle Sam. Indeed, HBO Max has just returned to channels available through Amazon Prime Video. In other words, US Prime Video users can add HBO Max to their subscription for $14.99 per month. They will thus be able to access the platform to all content from Warner Bros. Discovery (parent company of HBO) like House of The Dragon, The Last of Us or the film Dune by Denis Villeneuve for example.
For memory, HBO Max disappeared from Amazon Prime Video channels in September 2021 due to a disagreement between Warner and the e-commerce giant on the extension contract and more specifically on the possibility for Warner Media to collect user data. Upon HBO MAX’s departure from the Amazon Channels, Warner Media recorded a substantial loss of 5 million subscribers during the last quarter of 2021.
