The Mandalorian 3: Carl Weathers confirms his return and the start of filming

If Lucasfilm has long made official the making of season 3 of The Mandalorian, the return of Carl Weathers as Greef Karga.

The actor, during a panel at Steel City Con, confirmed his role in season three, as well as directing an episode of the series and announcing the start of filming next month.

The actor and director Carl Weathers confirmed that he will return in the third season of The Mandalorian both in the role of Greef and as the director of one of the episodes that will see him involved.

During a panel at Steel City Con, the actor further stated that filming for the new season will begin in September:

We will be starting a new season of The Mandalorian within the next month. And I’ll be back in front of the camera and can direct again.

Filming will take place in the Volume structure of Lucasfilm, the groundbreaking set made with Stagecraft technology, right after filming for the Obi Wan series.

Speaking of the third season on the Star Wars Sessions podcast, the stuntman Brendan Wayne had declared:

I think we have now introduced the world in which Mando exists. I’m not saying there will be no news, but I think now the character will deepen rather than introduce new things. Did I read the script? No. Did I hear some things? Of course. So this is what I imagine could happen. If there is anyone who is able to continue to tell this story and raise the stakes, it is definitely Jon Favreau.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will probably see the return of some directors of the first seasons, given the reconfirmation of Carl Weathers, who will continue the adventures of Din Djarin and Bo-Katan, will show the fate of Darksaber and the future of Grogu together with Luke Skywalker. The twists will not be lacking and, as the producer, writer and director had stated Dave Filoni, the Force will flow mighty in the third season.
