The Ministry of Industry starts the Support Program for Digital Innovation Hubs

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has started the launch of the Support Program for Digital Innovation Hubs, PADIHwhich will grant a maximum of 30,000 euros in aid to more than 1,200 small and medium-sized companies in Spain, according to Europa Press.

This plan begins as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and its bases have just been published in the BOE (Official State Gazette). In total, the Ministry of Industry will endow this plan with 16.6 million eurosamount comes from “Next Generation” funds.

Apart from the economic aid, the SMEs that benefit from this program will also receive aid in kind. Thanks to it, they will be able to count on advisory services. These services will be offered to you by the national European Digital Innovation Centers (EDIH).

The objective of this program is to favor and promote innovation in Spanish SMEs through what the ministry has called «implementation of disruptive digital technologies«.

The European Commission has chosen 23 projects to be incorporated into the EDIH network. These digital innovation centers will be in charge of offering the selected small and medium-sized companies the information, services and facilities they need to be able to implement their proposals, all focused on innovation.

The entity in charge of managing the call for aid for the Digital Innovation Hubs Support Program, which will open at the end of January 2023, will be the School of Industrial Organization (EOI), attached to the General Secretariat of Industry and SMEs.

This school already has other programs focused on offering help and promoting innovation. Among them is the Startup Acceleration Program, which is currently helping the growth and development of more than 6,000. Also the Capacities Program for SME Growth, and the Program to Promote the Innovative Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Ester ultimo is in charge of giving support to different events whose purpose is to give a boost to the spirit of innovation between companies and professionals.

All these programs follow the guidelines of what is known as Strategic Framework for SME Policy 2030. Also those of the Agency Spain Digital 2025. These two projects are part of the initiatives developed so that Spain will be a benchmark country in innovative entrepreneurship by 2030.
