The most powerful Avenger is neither Captain America nor Captain Marvel!

It’s not just in the MCU films that the multiverse serves as a backdrop! In fact, this concept of multiple universes was born in the comics, which makes it possible to multiply the stories and the heroes practically to infinity.

Marvel comics is in the midst of developing a particularly important story arc, in which a team of supervillains, the Multiversal Masters of Evil, bring the worst to the inhabitants of multiple realities. This group has the objective of reshaping the Earths composing the multiverse in their image, by killing the protectors of each of them.

The survival of the multiverse in the hands of a child

On Earth-616, the planet that hosts the main continuity of the Marvel Universe (ours, sort of), the Masters of Evil have a run-in with the Avengers as we know them. Fortunately, they are not alone in fighting these villains from the multiverse: the team of Deathloks, cyborg assassins, is there to lend a hand!

This is where we come to episode 52 of the Avengers comics. The group of Deathloks encounter Captain America and Captain Marvel and to the surprise of the two superheroes, these arrivals from another universe are in search of the greatest avenger that Earth-616 has ever known… who is neither Cap ‘, nor Captain Marvel! This is Starbrand, a source of unlimited power who reincarnated in the body of Suzanne Shelby.

But now, Suzanne Shelby is still a child under the protection of the Avengers. The first three preview pages released by Marvel for this issue #52 show Captain America and Captain Marvel battling Death Hunters, after the Deathloks deliver their amazing news.

Expect Suzanne Shelby to play an important role in the current arc of Marvel comics. Starbrand, whose first appearance in the comics dates back to 1986, arrived on Earth-616 in the asteroid that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Did you say powerful?
