The Cupertino company had not renewed its TV box for four long years, but it is now done with the 2021 version of the Apple TV 4K. The latter retains the same design as the previous generation, except for the remote control which has been redesigned to facilitate and make the experience in tvOS more pleasant. It is also more efficient by embedding the chip that animated the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max in 2018.
Instead of the usual 199 euros, the Apple TV 4K 2021 (32 GB) is now available in promotion at only 179 euros on the Leclerc site.

- What is this new remote control?
The Apple TV 4K 2021 remote control features new ergonomics. The location of the buttons isn’t drastically different, but the one that calls for Siri is now placed on the right edge making it easily accessible – with the index finger for left-handed people and the thumb for right-handed people. Mute and Power buttons also appear.
You will have noticed that the color of the remote control has changed, from black to gray, because the latter is now made with recycled aluminum. The circular touch control area also gets a facelift with better delineation, for a feel very similar to older iPods.
- Why is the 2021 Apple TV 4K more powerful?
The company has boosted the performance of its multimedia box, since the Apple TV 4K 2021 embeds the A12 Bionic processor which equipped the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max instead of the aging A10X chip. With up to 50% more power compared to the old generation, the interface is therefore even smoother and offers better graphics quality, in compatible games. This increase in performance also allows the Apple TV 4K 2021 to offer an HDR mode with a higher refresh rate than on the 2017 model.
Finally, note that Dolby Vision (for video) and Dolby Atmos (for sound) are still in the game.
