The new normal demands a new generation resilience model

I’d love to say that calmer times lie ahead, but the world continues to face the challenges posed by the historical disruption that we have been facing since 2020 and that has changed everything, from the behavior of customers and the market, to processes and management systems.

These changes have affected almost every industry, as the hybrid work environment has changed the way organizations – and especially technology companies – manage workforces, respond to cyber threats global and even attract top talent. Meanwhile, cost-of-living and supply chain pressures have contributed to an overall volatile environment.

While economies will gradually find a new balance, the new normal will require business leaders more than just catching up with the fast pace of change. To thrive, the industry will need to build resilience in three key aspects of operations to weather the disruptions ahead: building a more resilient workforce, designing disruptive technologies for the world we live in today, and managing safety in a changing workplace.

Usually, business resilience will be key to navigating what remains an unpredictable and often volatile landscape.

Boosting employee resilience

IT managers and senior management must inspire, educate and train employees so that they have the necessary professional and personal skills to shine in today’s highly digitized environment.

Changes in the way products are developed, marketed and sold, along with the rise of hybrid working, have also put pressure on employees to learn new skills. Last year, Gartner found that nearly six in ten employees would need to develop new skills to perform your job successfully. Amid fierce competition for talent, organizations must rethink the traditional roles their employees have played and put in place a plan to train them for the new digital age.

By rethinking traditional roles and approaches to everything from hiring practices to training offerings, organizations foster a culture of agility and inclusion. By empowering workers with new skills and collaboration tools, organizations will create a more resilient workforce and culture.

Design a disruptive technology

Achieving business resiliency in the hybrid age depends as much on choosing, or creating, the right technology across multiple areas of the organization as it does on education and collaboration.

In the last two years we have seen how consumer habits have changed enormously, with a growing demand for products, tools and services personalized, digitized, simple and sustainable that offer ever-increasing levels of comfort. And with the equivalent of two decades of change in less than two years, retailers are focusing on delivering better omnichannel experiences to customers.

However, chasing these trends is not enough to compete in today’s market: new technology must be flexible enough to meet changing customer needs for customized, individualized solutions, which means tech companies must shift their thinking from selling products to delivering results-based solutions.

During decades, hp has been at the forefront of driving, scaling and commissioning innovation, tackling challenges as important as ensuring the security of access points, which is essential in today’s hybrid work environment for what is considered the new normal. However, as employees connect from home more frequently, organizations are more exposed to vulnerabilities, and firmware attacks in particular, which is a growing concern for IT managers.

Building strength through resilience

I believe that companies that make resilience a goal in these key pillars of the organization will be in a better position to face the challenges of the new normal and also of tomorrow. Although it is impossible to predict the next changes, resilient organizations will have the confidence that whatever happens, they will be able to handle it. two
