It was the dream of the top manager of Warner Bros. Discovery and, in just over a month, it will be a reality. There will also be a series based on the Warren File movies, a miniseries titled True Detective: Night Country with Jodie Foster and even a kind of spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. Max promises more than 40 monthly premieres -that’s nothing- and of course, the key to the DC universe. Related to the latter, a series has also been announced about one of Batman’s greatest enemies, The Penguin.
The new pricing plans
One of the things that most worries HBO Max subscribers is how the prices will be now that there is a new platform. It had been rumored that the service would go from one to three plans And effectively it has been like that:
- Max Ad Lite (with ads): for $9.99/month or $99.9/year. Streaming in Full HD on two devices maximum at the same time. Without offline downloads and with 5.1 surround sound quality.
- Max Ad Free (no ads): 15.99 euros per month or $149.99 per year. Streaming in Full HD on two devices at the same time and with 30 offline downloads. 5.1 surround sound quality.
- Max Ultimate Ad Free (no ads): $19.99/month or $199.99/year. Streaming in 4k UHD on up to 4 devices simultaneously and with up to 100 offline downloads. Dolby Atmos sound quality.
And with current HBO Max subscribers, what about?
Warner has confirmed that current subscribers will automatically go from having HBO Max to being able to log in automatically to Max under the “No Ads” plan and at no extra cost. In case you want to see the contents in 4K, then you will have update your profile and pay by the corresponding plan.
When will Max be available in Europe?
We know that in the US the service will be released on May 24, in just over a month, while in Europe we will have to wait until 2024 to witness its deployment.
HBO Max Spain It has already clarified that all the information provided by Warner applies only to the US and that the details about the deployment in our country will be announced closer to the date.
