This is the new PS5 controller for the most Pro
Sony took advantage of Geoff Keighley’s event during this year’s Gamescon to introduce the Dual Sense Edgea new controller for PS5 that is focused on customization. With this new device, the company wants to satisfy all those more advanced players who use improved controllers for competitive play. During the event, Sony showed only one teaser, but invited us to discover all its features on its website. Shortly after, all its features were made public on the official PlayStation Blog.
The DualSense Edge is designed so you can suit a larger number of expert players. Their joystick they can be replaced, and will be sold separately by Sony. There are three different sticks depending on our preferences, with a standard, high vault or low vault finish. You can also adjust the analog dead zone to improve accuracy in certain games.
On the other hand, the triggers also go up in level, with the user being able to establish the path that best suits them. Added to this is another novelty that will also delight more than one skilled player, as they include two new back buttons.
The DualSense Edge also allows remap the buttons to the taste of the consumer and save profiles to switch between one setup and another in a comfortable and easy way thanks to a new function button that also allows access to a volume control and quick access to chat. The idea that Sony pursues with this new controller is that the player has everything within reach.
Are these changes enough?

The original DualSense was already a hit on the table that surprised us all. At a time when Microsoft seemed to have created the definitive command, the Japanese showed that there was still much to be done in this field.
However, even though the DualSense Edge significantly improves a few points, its ergonomics It will continue to be your Achilles heel. No matter how many years go by, Sony is quite continuous with the design of its PlayStation controller. The symmetrical design of PlayStation controls has always been the subject of debate. For some it is perfect, while others consider that an irregular layout is much more comfortable when playing.
With this new movement, it is clear that Sony is not going to listen to those users who prefer the ergonomics of the Xbox controller. PlayStation 5 has a new professional controller for the most gamers. When we have it in our hands, we will be able to assess whether or not it is worth making the leap to this model. However, for most users, the standard DualSense will still be an ideal device. For now, it’s time to wait for the release date to be made public.
