The new series of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’, on Disney +, already has a premiere date

It seems that at Disney + they are still thinking of bringing to the market everything related to the saga of ‘starwars‘. After the premiere of ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ and its spectacular finale, which has undoubtedly been the best of this first season, they are now preparing to promote a new series that will arrive very soon and that will give a lot to talk about. This is the series about ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi‘, one of the favorite characters of ‘Star Wars’, hence the success more than assured.

Of course, this series has had a fairly complicated journey since the series was announced several years ago, specifically in August 2019, but shortly after Disney + announced an indefinite pause in its production. But now the platform has officially announced it and we know that It will begin to be broadcast from May 25 of this year.

What do we expect from the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series?

The truth is that we still do not know anything about the plot of the series of this iconic character, although we do have confirmation of some important data that has been revealed in recent weeks. For starters, the action will be set 10 years after everything that happened in ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith‘. Both Obi-Wan and the young Anakin Skywalker will participate in this plot.

As for the leading roles, they will have them Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, which will get back into both roles. Along with these actors we will also see others with lesser known names, such as: Moses Ingram, Kumali Nanjiani, Indira Varna, Rupert Friend and others that we will be seeing between now and the premiere in May.

In the promotional poster that Disney + has shared through the Twitter social network, Obi-Wan Kenobi appears in the middle of the Tatooine desert, which apparently is where a good part of the action will take place. In the series, it seems, we can see how Obi-Wan Kenobi begins to instruct the very young Luke Skywalker.

‘Star Wars’, the great hope of Disney +?

Despite the fact that Disney+ is having a good audience for its Marvel premieres, it seems that the great hope of 2022 is placed on the ‘Star Wars’ saga, especially after the failure of ‘Han Solo: A Star Wars Story‘. In this case, the weight of its protagonists and characters is an added plus and that is that seeing Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen again in the same role as years ago is something that, at least, will be curious.

So we just have to wait a few months to get to know some news and hope that it really works as the platform expects and not be disappointed as in the latest releases related to the saga. Of course, we assume that the chapters will be released per week, as usual on Disney +, so there will be a long wait for the most impatient.

Mark May 25 on the calendar so you don’t miss the premiere of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ on Disney+.
