The Switch regularly receives updates to improve the user experience. The latest is published today and add some fixes in order to improve the user experience.

This new update 14.1.1 doesn’t drastically change the experience, let’s face it. We are far from the improvements brought by 14.0, the last big patch to date. Let’s find out what it has to offer anyway.

The Switch improves the stability of its operating system

This update aims above all to improve the “behind the scenes” of the OS. So we have few visible changes. It thus reinforces the stability of the system, in order to avoid crashes and slowdowns which could exist. Not much to get your teeth into, then. However, a dataminer by the name of OatmealDome still spotted something interesting. Patch 14.1.1 bans certain words from its system. For example, “Sendnudes” has been banned in all languages. A way, no doubt, to fight against online harassment. Similarly, we note the deletion of many words for the Japanese, such as “Death” in katakana.

Beyond that… not really anything new. We are there facing to a corrective patch, nothing else. However, you will have to download it to enjoy the online game. Theoretically, the patch should install automatically, especially if you leave your machine on standby. If it has not downloaded, just go to the settings, then to the console submenu at the bottom and start the download. Note that this patch is available regardless of the version of your machine: classic Switch, lite or OLED.

The Switch will soon welcome a new big game from its catalog: Nintendo Switch Sports. After that, we will have to wait for the announcements of E3 to know more about the titles of the end of the year. The sequel to Breath of the Wild, undoubtedly the machine’s most anticipated game, will not arrive until 2023.
