After the closure of PopCorn Time, the pet peeve of Netflix and Hollywood, in January 2022, it is the turn of another reference of pirate sites to throw in the towel. Indeed, thehe torrent site EETV draws the curtain. The news was confirmed by its administrator SideKickBob to our colleagues from the Torrent Freak site.

According to his details, the operator no longer has sufficient financial resources to keep the site running and to maintain the upload bots. In fact, he confirms that the domain names will not be renewed. “The site is closed for an indefinite period. I couldn’t afford to make it work anymore. I will not renew the domains”, he told our colleagues.

For the little story, SideKickBob had taken over the management of the EETV site when its original creator suddenly disappeared from radar screens two years ago now. Thanks to his financial contribution, the site and the download robots remained operational for a while. Only, it was a temporary measure.

No buyer, EETV is forced to close its doors

Indeed, the plan was to sell the site to a third party who would have the reputation and sufficient resources to ensure the sustainability of the pirate site. In the end, no buyer came to SideKickBob. “The decision was difficult to make. The site had about 250,000 loyal visitors per day, and many uploaders daily since the beginning of all this”, he specifies.

The EETV group was born in 2011 on the ExtraTorrent site, which has since disappeared. They established themselves as an alternative to the original EZTV group, which specialized in the pirate broadcasting of television shows. EETV has focused its activity on cinema and series. Initially led by a single person (the deceased creator), EETV is content to recover the content broadcast by The Sceneput them on a seedbox and publish the corresponding torrents on torrent sites.

All faster than EZTV. When ExtraTorrent closed in 2017, EETV and EZTV members decided to launch their own website. It’s ancient history now.
