Before its formalization, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is revealed in the smallest details. We know everything, or almost, about the future high-end smartphone.
His presentation date is not yet known, but he already has almost no secrets. The Oppo Find X5 is already shaping up to be the next flagship model from a manufacturer who wants to tickle Apple or Samsung. The program may seem ambitious, but the Chinese manufacturer has already proven that it can be counted on in this segment. In terms of premium mobile, its Find X3 Pro has settled on the table of references in 2021 with many strong points. So inevitably, we expect a lot from his successor.
After the Oppo Find X3 Pro, make way for the Find X5 Pro
In the air for a few weeks, the decision to offer a Find X5 Pro to succeed the Find X3 Pro is confirmed. Oppo will carefully avoid number 4 and the manufacturer’s origins may explain this choice. In many parts of Asia, the fear of the number 4 is widespread and this aversion is popularly known as tetraphobia. The Chinese manufacturer will therefore launch a Find X5 Pro and the German site WinFuture invites us to discover its design and technical data sheet.
Very high-end model, Oppo’s future flagship should be equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED LTPO screen. This panel displays a definition of 3,216 x 1,440 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, with 10-bit HDR support. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, it also houses a fingerprint reader.
Inside, the Oppo Find X5 Pro will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and that’s not really a surprise. The Qualcomm SoC should equip high-end Android smartphones in 2022. It would be supported by 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, not expandable via miroSD. Inevitably, we are talking about 5G compatibility, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC or wifi 6E.
An attractive technical sheet
Oppo is also expected on the photo component and can still count on the experience of Hasselblad. For its Find X5 Pro, the manufacturer would opt for a triple module consisting of two 1/1.56 inch Sony IMX766 sensors and a definition of 50 megapixels. The first would be a wide-angle with an aperture of f/1.7 while the second would serve as an ultra-wide-angle with an aperture of f/2.2. A 13-megapixel (Samsung S5K3M5) and f/2.4 telephoto lens would be present, with hybrid zoom up to 5x and digital up to 20x.
To accompany the photo part, Oppo would add its in-house MariSilicon X chip. This NPU is dedicated to image processing and promises to improve the quality of the shots taken by Oppo’s smartphone. On the front, a 32 megapixel camera (f / 2.4) would be present for selfies and video calls. The audio part would be entrusted to Dolby Atmos compatible stereo speakers.
Top of the range, the Find X5 Pro would add a 5,000 mAh battery compatible with 80 W fast wired charging. Wireless charging will probably be part of it, on an IP68-certified device to better resist water and dust. The set would have dimensions of 163.7 x 73.9 x 8.5 mm for a weight of 218 grams. Finally, the ColorOS 12.1 overlay based on Android 12 should animate the device.
The bill would be salty
The Oppo Find X5 will probably be launched “in the coming weeks in Europe”. An appearance is expected at MWC 2022, for release sometime in March. In Germany, the selling price of the Find X5 Pro would exceed 1,200 euros.
