To better understand the offer

  • Why has the design not changed compared to the XM3?

The WH-1000XM3 was the consecration for Sony. Each manufacturer of headphones has tried to blame themselves, as best they can, for the sound excellence offered by the Japanese giant. The brand has therefore decided to keep this iconic design for its new XM4 – moreover still as light and very comfortable to wear -, with the exception of one detail: the NFC logo is no longer printed, but now engraved. in plastic. So it’s almost impossible to tell the two apart with the naked eye, but your ears will easily tell the difference.

  • How is the new Sony WH-1000XM4 better than the old one?

Already excellent on the 2017 model, active noise reduction has been greatly improved with this latest model. There are now 20 management levels of the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) which are available via the Sony Headphones Connect application, including a level intended for the wind, for an even more precise and stunning result than before. And if you don’t want to hassle with setting everything, adaptive sound control is available to set up the headphones, so that they automatically activate more or less effective noise reduction depending on the context.

Other new features are also in the game, such as the ” Speak-to-Chat ┬╗To turn off noise reduction as soon as you start talking with the other party, or even multipoint Bluetooth. Very practical, this last feature quite simply allows you to connect up to two devices simultaneously, to easily switch from one to another, for example from your smartphone to your computer without disconnection. The XM4 is still compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri and the battery life is once again around 30 hours, according to the manufacturer.
