The program to promote women’s employment in IT Oracle Reinventa-Tech opens its 2nd call

Oracle has opened the second edition of its Reinventa-Tech program, designed to improve employment rates among women and reduce their level of unemployment. It is an initiative that is responsible for training, through official training and certification, women, in disciplines related to technology and in great demand in companies.

This program, launched by Oracle Women’s Leadership (OWL), is carried out thanks to a group of Oracle volunteers that was formed in 2020 to reduce the unemployment rate and improve the lives of women in Spain through employment in technology. A sector in which women still have a minority participation compared to men: 1.6% of Spanish women work in the technology sector, compared to 5.6% of men.

Twenty women participated in the first edition of the program, and culminated in the reinsertion into the labor world of 17 of them. In this second one, which began on November 22, the selection process has been extended to reach 45 women. Of course, to join the program they have to have university studies, have five years of previous work experience, know English and have the ability to solve problems.

In this new edition, Oracle has the support of collaborating companies such as Abast, Accenture, Arin, CGI, Extendit, Grupo Tragsa, Quistor, TCS or NTT Data. Once the program is finished and the certifications in technological skills have been obtained, these collaborating companies will be the ones that employ the women who pass it.

The second edition of the program will offer participants the possibility of choosing one of eight training branches: Cloud technology specialist, Java developer, Database and cloud services administrator, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) technology consultant, EPM technology consultant (Enterprise Performance Management), HCM (Human Capital Management) technology consultant, specialist in warehouse management technology and supply and Specialist in logistics and transport management technology.

Once the training period is over, the participants will be certified in Oracle technology, and will have knowledge in high demand that will allow them access to various jobs. In addition, the program has a last practical stage of putting the acquired training into practice, which can be carried out with the collaboration of Oracle and collaborating companies.

Maria Ángeles Fernández, Oracle Director of Risk Management and Program Leaderhas highlighted that «the success of the first edition of Reinventa-Tech was resounding. For this reason, we have decided to launch this second edition with the support of even more collaborating companies and with the aim of helping more than twice as many women to find their place in the technology sector. All the Oracle volunteers who make this project possible are convinced of the real impact on the lives of the Reinventa-Tech women, and we are committed to ensuring that this second edition exceeds all expectations.

As to Albert Triola, CEO of Oracle Spainhas stressed that he had «I had the opportunity to chat with the 17 Reinventa-Tech women who transformed their professional careers in the first edition, and I saw how the program had changed their lives. So I asked the Oracle team to be even more ambitious for this second round of the initiative. In addition to the great work of the volunteers, the response from our partners has been spectacular. They are part of the success of Reinventa-Tech».
