iCloud is one of the services that has gained greater acceptance among its users, due to the advantages it offers and the interest that Apple has shown in making it a reference compared to other alternatives such as Google Drive, Dropbox, among others. Therefore, in this post, we are going to see how we can share images, videos and files through iCloud.
iCloud, endless possibilities
Today there are many forms of power send files, be it images, documents or projects between work teams. One of the most used by Apple users is iClouda service that allows you to share images and videos with other users and that we are going to see next.
Invite people in iCloud
Remember that to send this type of file, you must have it stored in iCloud and not in the memory of the mobile device, otherwise you will not be able to send it. If you want to invite people to receive your files, you have to perform the following steps.
- Under Photos on iCloud.com, select the photos or videos you want to share.
- Click the Share button, and then do one of the following:
- Select Send by mail, and then click Open Mail. A new email window will open with a link to your photo collection.
- Select Copy Link, and then click Copy Link. Share the link with friends. For example, you can paste it into a Messages conversation.
In case you want stop sharing a link via iCloud, you can perform the following steps:
- Under Photos on iCloud.com, click iCloud Links in the sidebar.
- Click the collection of photos you want to stop sharing.
- Click the More button, select Stop Sharing, and then click Stop Sharing.
It is important to highlight that the iCloud links automatically expire after 30 days since its generation, so you do not have to worry if you have not stopped sharing the aforementioned link.
Share files from Mac
Despite the fact that photos and videos are one of its star functions, it has many other functions, such as the possibility of being able to access, edit files and documents you have shared through the Apple cloud. The process is the one that we will describe below.
For this, from Mac tap the Finder icon in the Dock To open a Finder window, click iCloud Drive in the sidebar, select a file or folder, then click the button share. Then select a dropdown and click Collaborate. Within it, you will see several options where you can determine degree of control to users who have shared your files.
Finally, it’s important to remember that to share your iCloud Drive folder, your computer or device must have macOS version 10.15.4 or later, iOS version 13.4 or later, or iCloud for Windows version 11.1 or later.
