the reboot trailer is finally here!

This is an occasion that deserves to be dancing at the Carlton. Peacock has just unveiled the trailer for Bel-Air, reboot of the iconic 90s series.

“I’m going to tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air”. 3 years ago Morgan Cooper shared a fan trailer of Bel-Air, a dramatic replay of the adventures of the character played by Will Smith in the 90s. The video attracted the attention of the public, but also that of the actor who had subsequently met him to discuss his project. Since then, things have advanced and the reboot is preparing to land on Peacock. Bel-Air revealed himself yesterday on YouTube, in a trailer that completely clashes with the tone of the series and for good reason… Through this new production, Will Smith wants to transpose the adventures of his eponymous character into a contemporary world and relate a meeting social class.

Set in modern America, Bel-Air follows the adventures of young Will Smith as he gets into trouble with the law. In a last hope of offering him redemption, his mother sends him to his uncle’s in the upscale neighborhoods of Bel-Air. He will navigate between the prejudices of a world very different from his own, to discover the power of second chances.

February 13 on Peacock

Produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, the series stars Jabari Banks as the main character. The actor signs here his first role for the small screen. He will give the reply to Adrian Holmes (Arrow) as Uncle Phil and Cassandra Freeman (Luke cage) in that of Aunt Viv. Olly Sholotan will play Carlton.

The production will be provided by Morgan Cooper, as for the trailer unveiled in 2019. Finally, it is TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson who will act as showrunner on the series. The two screenwriters notably worked on Narcos and The 100. The meeting with Bel-Air is set at February 13 on Peacock. For the moment, no French release date has been communicated. We will have to wait for a French broadcaster to appear to hope to see it land in our green regions.

A season 2 on the program

Peacock has every intention of making his new production a success. The platform is also rather confident about the reception that Bel-Air should receive since it has already ordered. a second burst of episodes. It remains to be seen from now on if it will manage to pay tribute to the sitcom from which it is inspired.
