the Samsung smartphone would arrive this year with an Exynos chip

At the end of the year, Samsung should market a new Galaxy S23 “Fan Edition”, its series of affordable smartphones which had not been entitled to any model in 2022. Nevertheless, these would arrive with a bad surprise.

Samsung Galaxy S23 review

Last year, Samsung made the choice not to launch any Galaxy S22 FE, after the bitter failure of the Galaxy S21 FE the previous year. After several postponements, the latter was finally released much too late to be competitive enough. Samsung would prepare a new model for this year, more affordable, and we already know a little more about it.

While Samsung had decided to abandon Exynos processors on its recent Galaxy S23, thus using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips on all models, the Galaxy S23 FE could mark the return of Samsung’s in-house SoCsaccording to a new report from SamMobile.

The Galaxy S23 FE is coming to us with an Exynos chip

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be equipped with the SoC Exynos 2200 in all regions, unlike the S21 FE, which was equipped with a Snapdragon or Exynos chip depending on the market. As a reminder, this is the chip that was used in Europe last year in the Galaxy S22, and which had been much criticized for its performance compared to Qualcomm chips.

When the Galaxy S23 FE is launched at the end of the year, the Exynos 2200 will then be almost two years old, which will obviously prevent the smartphone from ranking among the most powerful on the market. However, the choice to use this chip rather than another could well allow Samsung to bring the price of its smartphone downand thus not reproduce the same error as with the previous model.

At the level of the rest of the technical sheet, SamMobile evokes 50 MP main camera, compared to 12 MP previously, a 4500 mAh battery compatible with 25 W fast charging, 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, and 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. We will probably have to wait several more months before knowing more about it, but we will obviously keep you informed.
