Available since February 25, Valve’s long-awaited Steam Deck is making its first emulators. It must be said that the console knows how to be attractive. If it is difficult not to make the comparison with the Nintendo Switch, the two machines don’t really play in the same court. Nevertheless, both are found on certain points… and not necessarily the best.

On Reddit, several disturbing messages point the finger a drift problem, the same one that has tarnished the image of the Nintendo Switch for several years. This manifests itself mainly on the right joystick and considerably impacts the gaming experience. This is an embarrassing situation for Valve, which had nevertheless promised that the Steam Deck would not suffer from the problem.

That being said, do not panic. The situation is not as hopeless as it looks, as evidenced by the message posted by a member of Reddit. After contacting the Valve teams, he received a very reassuring response. The firm acknowledges that the problem exists, but claims thata simple system update is enough to fix it.

To do this, you have to go to Settings > System > Software Update and download the latest update. Valve says it has already deployed it, so it should already be available to players. Excellent news for all those who feared having to suffer the same problem that strikes the Nintendo Switch, but also the PS5.

In addition, Valve gives some advice to players who have just received their console. The firm therefore recommends plug in your Steam Deck before turning it on for the first time, as well asinstall BIOS updates directly. Once done, all you have to do is play.
