Microsoft has announced the launch in Spain of the Surface Laptop Go 2, a mid-range laptop that stands out for its lightness, autonomy and good finishes and that the Redmond firm focuses on mass consumption and the educational sector.
Last December we had the opportunity to analyze the first version of this model and here we have the second generation that maintains many of its qualities, but with an important internal hardware refresh with eleventh generation Intel Core processors at the forefront, better integrated graphics performance and support for the latest connectivity standards such as Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth 5.2.
Microsoft’s own line of hardware Surface serves as a reference to its partners in Windows and also accumulates very good sales data. The company takes special care of it even in the lower cost equipment and the one in question maintains the aluminum chassis (with polycarbonate resin with fiberglass in its base) for a weight of only 1.12 kg. Not bad at all considering its multi-touch screen 12.5-inch Pixel Sense with 3:2 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1,536 x 1,024 pixels, for a maximum brightness level of 330 nits.
The engine of the Surface Laptop Go 2 is a processor Intel Core i5-1135G7, as we said above with a significant increase in performance compared to the original model. It has a similar selection of ports, with USB Type C and Type A and Microsoft’s proprietary connector to recharge a battery that promises 13.5 hours of autonomy. It features a 3.5mm headphone jack on a powered audio system with two high-sensitivity Dual far-field Studio Mics and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio Premium.
It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, an improved HD webcam with an IR sensor (in some configurations) to improve security with facial recognition and connection with Windows Hello and, of course, support for the TPM chip required for the Windows 11 operating system that comes pre-installed.
Surface Laptop Go 2 is now available in the Microsoft Store with a retail price of €669 in its base equipment with 4 Gbytes of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. Microsoft offers two other configurations up to 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. The Official Store offers free expedited shipping, 60-day returns or 90-day free support, plus special pricing (10% off) for eligible students, parents, and teachers.
Microsoft Store also has different bundles with this laptop, a 15-month Microsoft 365 subscription for the price of 12 and 20% savings on optional accessories like mice, a stand or audio accessories and up to 50% on a wide variety of cases and covers.
The new Microsoft laptop is also available in the Spanish retail channel if you prefer to buy it there.
