Lovers of small cars, and even very small cars, will be thrilled. Swiss manufacturer Micro Mobility Systems will begin deliveries of the Microlino in March.
A “baby car”, that’s how the manufacturer Micro Mobility Systems describes its astonishing vehicle, the Microlino, whose size is the equivalent of a third of a normal car. To enter this four-wheeler, you have to lift the single door that acts as the front facade. Two people can fit in it! And at the back, a 220-litre trunk can store three cases of beer (to be consumed in moderation, etc.). The Microlino also incorporates a sunroof.
Two seats and a small trunk
The vehicle has a motor with a power of 12.5 kW, which allows it to spin at a maximum speed of 90 km/h. It accomplishes 0 to 50 km/h in 5 seconds with a maximum torque of 89 Nm. Three types of battery are available: 6 kWh for a range of 90 km, 10.5 kWh for 175 km and 14 kW for 230 km. The recharge time is between 3 and 4 hours depending on the battery chosen.
The manufacturer specifies that a standard electrical outlet is sufficient to recharge the Microlino. Its weight is 496 kg for the 6 kWh version. To achieve such a car, Micro Mobility Systems used a self-supporting monocoque improving safety and driving behavior compared to the tubular chassis of other vehicles in its class.
The Microlino is available from €12,500, not counting the green bonuses. The first deliveries will begin in March.
