After the brief advance published at the beginning of October, a fleeting advance that already revealed many unknowns in broad strokes for the better, Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Super Mario Bros: The Movieone full of references to several of the games starring the Nintendo character and some more.
As it was already known, Super Mario Bros: The Movie It will be released in theaters on March 31, 2023. And it’s not just any experiment for Nintendo, whose history with the big screen goes back a long way, also with Mario as the protagonist, but with a blushing failure both artistically and commercially. It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen again.
Super Mario Bros: The Movie It is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go! The movie), written by Matthew Fogel (the lego movie 2 Y Minions: The Origin of Gru) and starring in its original version by, among others, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) in the role of Mario, Jack Black (School of Rock) as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy (queen’s gambit) as Princess Peach or Charlie Day (Pacific Rim) as Luigi.

One of the doubts that existed about this animated adaptation was, in fact, the choice of Pratt to put his voice to Mario, taking into account the style printed by Charles Martinet (he is also out there, it is seen) over the years, but it seems that everything is in place and what is more important: beyond English-speaking countries, and even in them, there will be many actors who will be in charge of dubbing the character, so the matter is of no importance.
Nor does it seem that objections can be made to the quality of the animation, except for specific details and that in many cases will be rather subjective. To me, for example, the design of Peach’s face doesn’t convince me and I see Mario’s too plump, but that’s it, details. The rest is seen first and what less, that after so many years they do it as it should.
