Rekkord Audio, a German firm specializing in both automatic and manual turntables, arrives in Spain from the distributor Sound&Pixel. The Spanish distributor expands its turntable catalog with the German turntable firm, whose specialty in automatic turntables facilitates access to this support for audiophiles who had not tried it before.
The Rekkord Audio company is part of Audio Tuning, the parent company of other well-known turntable brands such as Music Hall. It has its factory in the German town of St. George, in the Black Forest of Germany. 99% of the parts you use are made right next to the factory. In this way they manage to carry out a strict quality control of their products. The result is a turntable that offers great sound quality from the entry-level to the high-performance range.
The German manufacturer has two categories of turntables in its catalog: those with automatic speed change (depending on the model, 33, 45 or 78 rpm) and manual ones. They have a strap design and some models with a sub-chassis design. The sub-chassis allows isolation of engine noise and vibration from the signal pathachieving a quieter background that avoids interference.
Rekkord F100, F110, F300 and F400: fully automatic turntables
Rekkord Audio’s current range of fully automatic turntables consists of four models: F100, F110, F300 and F400. The F100 is the entry model that comes ready to listen to music right out of the box. We will only have to connect it to our amplifier and press the start button. Being a fully automatic machine the tone arm moves autonomously to the correct position and at the end of the record the tone arm is raised and returns to its resting position, automatically turning off the motor.
The F100 is equipped with a AT3600 capsule pre-tuned that is mounted on a carbon fiber reinforced head that offers the perfect connection with the aluminum arm. It has a solid balanced aluminum platter stamping and built-in phono preamp. The Rekkord F100 is for sale with an official price of €329.
The F110 is also a entry model, but comes with sub-chassis design. The entire automatic system, as well as the tonearm and damped aluminum platter, are built on a floating sub-chassis platform that is decoupled from the rest of the chassis. The Rekkord F110 is for sale with an official price of €399.
Going up a step in the Rekkord Audio range of automatic turntables we find the F300, a more advanced model that offers the possibility of adjusting the tone arm. Allows you to easily configure the tracking force and anti-slip. On the other hand, it is equipped with a AT91 capsule high quality pre-tuned and mounted on a carbon fiber reinforced head.
The automatic system, the tonearm and the platter are decoupled from the rest of the chassis thanks to the sub-chassis system. A main chassis that is made from a single piece of MDF to dampen resonance. The Rekkord F300 is for sale in two finishes (satin black and Stirling oak veneer) with an official price of €549.
Finally we have the top model of the automatic series: the F400. It’s a Fully automatic sub-chassis turntable featuring massless tracking force adjustment which optimizes the center of gravity directly in the center of the bearing.
It is equipped with a Ortofon 2M Red cartridge of high quality mounted on a head reinforced with carbon fiber. The 2M Red is an all-purpose cartridge that offers an open, dynamic sound with a hint of warmth.
The plinth is made from a single piece of MDF and is available in four different finishes: satin black, high gloss black and cherry or Macassar wood veneer. The Rekkord F400 is for sale with an official price of €699.
Although its specialty is automatic models, the German manufacturer also has in its catalog two manual models: M500 and M600. Both offer high-end Ortofon capsule and sub-chassis technology. The Rekkord M500 it has a price of €1,099 and the Rekkord M600 it has a price of €1,399.
