The wait for the iPhone 14 Pro already extends to a month

With that of the iPhone 14, there are already three generations in which the Pro surname, despite carrying a higher price, is the one that takes the lead in the demand by users. So much so that, in fact, we must remember the surprise that we experienced (and especially that they experienced in Cupertino), back in October 2020, with the launch of the iPhone 12 family, the generation that marked the debut of the Mini model.

In the previous generation, that of the iPhone 11, the standard model was a big sales success, although it is true that the Pro and Pro Max models also performed quite well in terms of sales. In this way, Apple decided to keep them in the next generation, something logical, but reinforced this with a cheaper and smaller option, the iPhone 12 Mini. We all understood that Apple’s forecasts were that the Mini was the best-selling model, thanks to its low price.

However, and as you will also remember, the most demanded models of the iPhone 12 generation were the Pro and Pro Max, and surprisingly the iPhone Mini did not arouse the expected interest in users. Personally, and even more so after the in-depth (and in my opinion very accurate) analysis made by my colleague Javier Cortijo, I have never come to understand that this model, as well as its successor, the iPhone 13 Mini, did not work better in terms of sales, as they were a most balanced proposal.

The wait for the iPhone 14 Pro already extends to a month

Thus, since the generation of the iPhone 12, we have seen how every year, with each new generational change, the Pro and Pro Max end up being the great protagonists. This year, with the replacement of the Mini model by the Plus, there was a question as to whether the combination between this and the standard model would be able to stand up to its “older brothers” a little more. However, and as we can see in the Apple online store, we see that the trend is repeated for another year, and that at this point, just over two weeks after the expected date of arrival on the market, the wait for an iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can already be extended to a month, compared to 3-4 weeks about 10 days ago.

Apple has, with this new generational change, one more sign that perhaps, for future generations, should readjust its production rhythms, giving more weight to these two versions. And we are talking about something that has already been repeated three times, and that will surely intensify more, as Apple makes more differences between the standard and Pro models.
