The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen First Trailer

That fateful day on which it was announced that the version Next Gen The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was delayed indefinitely. For reasons that were not made clear, but that can be imagined, CD Projekt RED decided to take the development out of the hands of Saber Interactive to resume it in their own studios. It was a big jug of cold water for the many users who were waiting for it, but one more sign that the Polish studio has learned its lesson with Cyberpunk 2077 and prioritizes quality over dates. It was, therefore, bad news that was underlain by much more positive news: that when he arrived, he would do so in the best conditions.

This announcement was made back in April, and the fact that it was indicated that it did so without a date made us fear that we could already forget to enjoy it this year, that we would not see it until 2023 at the earliest. At that time, the study’s workload was added, which we assumed was focused on completing the update, also Next-Gen, of Cyberpunk 2077, something that we can perfectly understand as a priority for the company. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next Gen he would have to wait his turn, in addition to finding a place among the rest of the projects related to the franchise.

However, a little over a week ago we got fantastic news, with the official announcement from CD Projekt RED that this long-awaited expansion was almost ready and that, consequently, it will reach users on December 14, a moment ideal so that we can enjoy it during Christmas, either for those who decide to purchase it once it has been adapted to the current hardware, or for those who have had it for a long time, and in which case they will receive this update completely free of charge.

Now, since the announcement many of us have been waiting to see the images of this Next-Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, to be able to open our mouths (or to get our teeth longer until its arrival, which too), something of which I am sure that the study was aware and that it has taken advantage of it to play with the times. And it is that it has not been until today that, finally, CD Projekt RED has finally released a trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on his YouTube channel. And, as expected, it seems that the wait has been worth it. Judge for yourself:

The graphic aspect of this update is more than promising, and there are many improvements introduced by the study: ray tracing, improvements in reflections, improved physics, and updated textures, among others, along with compatibility with DLSS 3 and FSR 2.1. In this respect, without a doubt, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has caught up very, very up to date.

But the improvements are not only visual. As we can see in the update information published by CD Projekt RED on GOG, we can find many other new features. This is how the study defines them:

Numerous gameplay and UI improvements. An alternative camera option that brings us closer to the action both on foot and on horseback. Combined with the Quick Sign Casting alternative option, map filtering, and the option to dynamically hide the minimap, exploration will be even more exciting than before!

built-in photo modewhich allows us to capture all those awesome moments during our future games.

A selection of mods integrated into the experience with some community-created favourites, plus CDPR’s own visual and gameplay enhancements.

Quest fixes to allow smooth and error-free completion of “From Ofier’s Distant Shores”, “Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear”, among others!

new additional content inspired by the Netflix series The Witcher, thanks to which we will enjoy alternative looks for the Dandelion and Nilfgaardian soldiers, in addition to embarking on a new quest, where we can obtain diagrams for new equipment inspired by the show. for Geralt.

and cross progressiona feature recently added to Cyberpunk 2077, which means we’ll be able to play the game how we want, where we want, and transfer our latest saves between platforms.

It seems, therefore, that we are really facing much more than a graphical update (which is something remarkable in itself). We will still have to wait a few weeks until we can try it but, with what we have seen and read, everything indicates that the reward after the long wait will be more than satisfactory.
