The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the new Italian trailer of the prequel anime is online

Netflix has released the new trailer for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, the anime based on the famous fantasy franchise born from the literary saga of Andrzej Sapkowski.

The animated project, which was shown for the first time during the WitcherCon last week, will serve as a prequel to the starring TV series Henry Cavill which we will soon see again with the second season.

Below we can admire the promotional video that shows us the main character of the serious anime, that is Vesemir, Geralt’s mentor.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf release date

The anime will debut on Netflix’s streaming catalog on August 23, 2021.

Complementary production to the live action TV series The Witcher, as already mentioned the anime will be a prequel set long before the events told in the first season of The Witcher and will have as protagonist Vesemir, teacher, mentor and “putative father” of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), which in Nightmare of the Wolf will be voiced by Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve).

Before Geralt there was Vesemir, an arrogant young witcher who loves to kill paid monsters. When a dangerous new power begins to emerge on the Continent, Vesemir learns that some witcher jobs are worth more than a few coins …

The anime is produced by Beau DeMayo together with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (former showrunner and executive producer of the TV series The Witcher) and will be directed by Kwang II Han At Studio Mir.

The world of The Witcher is expanding more and more this time with an original animated story. Before Geralt lived his mentor, Vesemir, a bold and young hunter who managed to escape poverty by killing monsters for money. However, when a strange new being begins to terrorize an already politically tense kingdom, Vesemir finds himself on an adventure that will force him to face demons from his past.
