After the official trailer for The Witcher 2 and the reveal of the release date of the second season of the Netflix series, al WitcherCon the first teaser was also shown The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf trailer, the prequel anime coming to California’s video on demand platform.
Complementary production to the live action TV series The Witcher, the anime will be a prequel set long before the events told in the first season of The Witcher, and will feature Vesemir, teacher, mentor and “putative father” of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), which in Nightmare of the Wolf will be voiced by Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve).

Before Geralt, there was Vesemir – an arrogant young witcher who loves to kill paid monsters. When a dangerous new power begins to emerge on the Continent, Vesemir learns that some witcher jobs are worth more than a few coins …
As revealed during the virtual event entirely dedicated to the witcher, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will debut on Netflix on August 23 but, in the meantime, we can enjoy the first trailer below:
