TherapyChat closes its third round of financing for 6.5 million

TherapyChat has just announced the closing of a new round of funding. In this case for the value of €6.5 million, of Series A. The company again achieves the confidence of NextChance Invest, which also led its two previous rounds, and gives entry to new investors such as Mediaset Spain and Mediaset Italy.

Founded in 2016 by Alessandro de Sario and Alejandro Ponce, TherapyChat acts as meeting point for psychologists who seek to offer their services online and people or companies who are interested in enhancing their emotional well-being.

Under this double objective of democratize citizen access to psychology and provide professionals in this discipline with a new quality work tool, it was the first Spanish company to adhere to the code of good practice in telepsychology established by the Official College of Psychology of Madrid.

In its short history, TherapyChat has closed three rounds of financing: the first two (one round seeds in 2016 and a pre-series A round in 2021) by NextChance Invest (investor of, among others, La Nevera Roja, Jobandtalent and Conversia) for a value of 3 and 5 million euros respectively.

Join the group now ad4ventures (which in the past has invested in companies such as Deporvillage, Westwing, La Nevera Roja, Satispay or Rebelle, among others), the investment arm of Mediaset España, as well as Mediaset Italia, in the third round of the startup, where it enters with a stake minority. With them, the company opens the doors to new Spanish and foreign investors and, in total, accumulates 14.5 million euros raised since its foundation.

Every day, through its application, more than 1,500 video-therapy sessions are carried out by the more than 1,000 registered psychologists in Spain, Italy or the United Kingdom who have chosen TherapyChat as the tool to offer their services in a format on-line.

The new investment round – which has been closed at a time when it is not being easy for companies to raise capital due to the macroeconomic situation in which we find ourselves – confirms TherapyChat’s position as category leader in a sector that has become increasingly important in recent years, and will allow the company – which now also has the support of Mediaset – to continue consolidating its leading position in southern Europe.

In addition, the funds will go to the investment in technology to continue developing its software with the intention of expanding functionalities for psychologists, as well as to continue expanding its value proposition for companies and become the reference provider in corporate emotional well-being.

In this sense, one of the latest alliances signed in this same month of October has taken place with the benchmark company in the security sector, Securitas Direct, which joins the more than 500 companies that have trusted TherapyChat to take care of the emotional well-being of its employees.

Support to consolidate the proposal
