These are all the actors confirmed by Disney for the Percy Jackson series

as you know, Disney is preparing a series based on the books created by Rick Riordan that they will come to try to restore the good name of a saga that has delighted millions of kids around the world, but that between 2010 and 2013 they had to suffer through two perfectly expendable films and that, worst of all, they never became respectful of the original work. So now that the Mickey Mouse factory has taken over all of Fox’s franchises and rights, it’s time to take advantage of that legacy to make something more lasting.

The point is that Disney + will be the recipient of this production that, if nothing prevents it, will be released in 2023 on the streaming platform, dates that we could understand are too hasty if at this point in 2022 the names of the cast that will play the main characters are still being confirmed. Although we already knew eight of them, especially those with main roles, in the last few hours three others have joined that has been revealed exclusively by Variety, a medium closely connected with current events in Hollywood.

It is the arrival of Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton and Charlie Bushnell, that at the moment the roles they are going to play are not known, although their careers are: in the case of Dior we have been able to see it in the series glee Y Are you afraid of the dark?while Olivea only has credits in two shorts from 2019 and 2021: Better Now Y And Yet They Speak. In Charlie’s case, we have seen him in wetworks and in the series Diary of a Future President.

However, what is clear to us is that Percy Jackson will be played by Walker Scobellthe young protagonist of The ADAM Project who premiered Netflix a few months ago (and who starred alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldaña) and who is just the right age to get into the role of that kind of magician son of Gods who, as they go by the seasons, it should grow with the character. Remember that one of the great original sins committed by the two films was raising the age of the protagonist, practically taking him to a phase of pre-adult adolescence that did not fit with what was read in the books.

Now it seems that with Percy Jackson and the Olympians Disney is going to do things as Rick Riordan originally conceived them and, as stages in the protagonist’s life are burned, he will grow and discover the secrets hidden in each stage that he will have to experience.
