If we are thinking that the time has come to become independent and stop living with our parents, the easiest option to start a life away from our parents is through rent a house. However, in many provinces, renting a home can be even more expensive than taking out a mortgage, as long as we do not make use of the different aids that the State Housing Plan 2022-2025 makes available to us.
The State Living Plan 2022-2025 has, as its main objectives, facilitate access to housing for young people with limited resources through direct rental aid. It is also focused on providing aid to victims of gender violence, people who have been evicted, people without hours and over 65 years of age, as well as homeless people.
The annual income of all the tenants of a rental home who want to apply for these aids cannot exceed the Indicate Multiple Effects Income Public, known as IPREM. This index establishes the personal income limit of people who can obtain social assistance. In 2023, the maximum limit is set at 600 euros per month per person. Depending on the number of members of the family unit, if we are a large family or have a family member with some type of capacity, the amount of aid received will be higher and will be based on the number of resident tenants.
Like many other powers such as Health, the State Housing Plan for the years 2022-2025 is managed by the autonomous communitiesTherefore, depending on our residence or if we plan to change in the near future, we will have to go to the corresponding community website.
While some communities offer affordable social rental housing, other communities are reaching agreements with banks to allow tenants to continue living in the residence for which they have defaulted on the mortgage. There are no specific regulations and aids that apply to all of Spain, so, to clear up doubts, we must inform ourselves in each autonomous community.
Rental aid for 2023
The minimum requirements to apply for these aids are associated with the IPREM, as we have mentioned above. However, in some communities, other factors may be taken into account, so first of all, the first thing we should know is what are the necessary requirements depending on the community where we are.
In order to process the aid, we can use a digital certificate, identifying ourselves through the Cl@ve system or through any other valid method such as the DNIe. Once the corresponding application has been submitted, the answer as to whether we can receive the aid or not takes a few days.
