It is a serious problem facing the current video game landscape that, in one way or another, offers functions that need to connect again and again to the company’s servers editor that, whether we like it or not, represent a significant expense as the years go by and the critical mass of players decreases along with the popularity of that title. So Electronic Arts has taken the ax out for a walk to clean up.
Goodbye to the official servers
The fact is that, as we say, it is not new for a company to take inventory from time to time and decide to take measures that are almost always unpopular. And they are because many of the games that are left without those official servers manage to maintain some movement of players who continue to enjoy the releases years later. Even the odd decade.
Be that as it may, Electronic Arts, which is one of the publisher with the most releases in history (has been with us since the 80s), has published a complete list of games that now have official support to enjoy online together or against other players. And the truth is that there are some flashy names, such as Dragon Age Originsthe third installment of the celebrated franchise developed by Bioware, or some Command & Conquer that were released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 generations almost 13 years ago.
Of course, except in the case of three names that have already seen their online services cut off in the last few hours, the rest still offers some space for us to play the odd game reminiscing. Although in your case, if you are still fond of any of them, it is still time to contact the scenes of the community to find out if alternative servers are going to be enabled to maintain activity and, above all, performance.
Electronic Arts games that are already disconnected
Right here below we leave you the closing calendar of those servers that, as we indicated before, began on October 20 with the plated complete and definitive of three games. From there, the list becomes more and more surprising with the appearance of names like Mirror’s Edgea 2008 title that is still going strong and, on the other hand, OnRushan extraordinary speed title that seems to have run out of public just four years after it was put up for sale.
By the way, it is surprising that Electronic Arts gives up some of its bets so soon within Luna +, the Amazon cloud game service that has not yet arrived in our country. Does that mean it’s not working?
