This Chrome plugin auto-responds on Twitter with GPT-3 AI

Tweet GPT. The Chrome Plugin to automatically reply to tweets with the AI OpenIA.

The openia artificial intelligence is leaving more than one with their mouths open. Its automatic response system is capable of surprising us with almost any question we ask, and this is attracting so much attention that many have not hesitated to start working with the tool to give life to tremendously interesting utilities. What if someone could respond for you to the tweets you receive?

This peculiar Chrome plugin uses the OpenIA API to automatically reply to people’s tweets. The peculiarity is that its creator has not programmed it to be autonomous, but that there must be human intervention to respond to each tweet.

This action will simply be to press a new button that appears in the Twitter interface once you have installed the plugin in Chrome. Each time you press the button, the AI will generate a random response that can be positive, negative, controversial or something else. If the answer doesn’t convince you, you can click again to generate another one before sending the tweet definitively.

Can they ban you?

Considering how complicated things are on Twitter, using a bot to reply to people might not appeal too much to Elon Musk’s people, however, the plugin works as a Chrome extension to fill the text field in the Twitter’s own website, and it will only write a response if we click on a specific button.

In principle, this should not trigger any type of alarm in the service, so your account would be safe, however, you know very well that this completely loads the experience of the social network. Allowing a bot to respond disinterestedly and without a human perspective is not correct, not to mention that you would be fooling the other party involved into thinking that there is someone responding with arguments.

Can you tell when an AI is responding?

It was to be expected that the first cases of automatic responses on Twitter would begin to appear, and the truth is that it does not seem too difficult to detect them. It is also true that there are certain answers that would not make sense in a real answer, and that is that the bot fails in something extremely human: irony.

In this tweet, you can perfectly see how an ironic publication with humorous touches receives a deep response that in no way connects with the intention of the person who started the conversation.
