This comparison between the Samsung S95B and the LG OLED G2 confirms which technology will dominate in 2022

A war between two technologies is brewing this year: Samsung’s QD-OLED panels against LG’s OLED EVO solutions. Sony has decided to support Samsung with its A95K, a television that points ways. And in the first comparisons that we have seen between the Samsung flagship and some of its rivals, we have seen that the Samsung panel points ways. Now, we bring you one of the most anticipated: a comparison of images between the Samsung S95B and the LG OLED G2.

Through the YouTube channel Stop the FOMOwe have been able to see a video that shows a comparison between the Samsung S95B and the LG OLED G2. And if there was any doubt about what technology will dominate the Smart TV market in 2022, we can already tell you that Samsung and its QD-OLED are going to reign with ease, it seems.

It is important to note that, for this comparison, the guys from Stop FOMO have only activated the Filmmaker mode, leaving the rest of the parameters at their original values. Remember that it is always recommended to perform a calibration with a professional probe if you want to achieve the best results in terms of image quality, but it is a good way to carry out this comparison between the LG OLED G2 and the Samsung S95B.

The truth is both models offer excellent image quality, so it is difficult to appreciate the differences at all times. And for this reason, in Stop de FOMO they wanted to show those especially complicated scenes, in addition to having a heat map to show the main differences in terms of image quality between the Samsung S95B and the LG OLED G2.

Through different images we can see the potential offered by each model. In the example that heads these lines, we can see that the LG G2 manages to raise the black level by reducing the luminance by activating tone mapping, while the Samsung S95B holds back by offering more accurate results, and without changing black levels or brightness.

In this example, the differences are clearer, with the Samsung S95B offering better image quality, with reddish tones that are not seen in the image projected by the LG OLED G2.

This image is perfect to appreciate the difference in brightness level between the Samsung S95B and the LG OLED G2. To begin with, the heat map shows that the Smart TV with a QD-OLED panel offers a much higher level of brightness, showing itself in the image above with a much more defined and real tonality.
