This is how I’m going to create an iPod

Every Apple user and lover has always wanted to have an iPod, be it a first-generation classic iPod, or the latest versions, due to its musical quality, its design and above all, the ability of the iPod to immerse you in your music. Favorite songs. However, as we all know, Apple has discontinued the iPod because times have changed and it is a device that makes no sense to purchase. Therefore, in this article, we are going to recover our innocence, we are going to go back 10 years and we are going to see how we can create our iPod.

This is how I will create my iPod

On May 11, 2022, Apple removed the seventh-generation iPod from the App Store, one of the products that laid the foundation for what Apple is today. However, the end of this HomePod has not been as it deserves, with a latest version without more pain than glory and that practically went unnoticed by the vast majority of users.

I could never have an iPod, since it was a product that was out of my parents’ budget and that, due to life circumstances, today I write in La Manzana Mordida, with the hope of creating my iPod from my beloved iPhone 7 .

I have chosen this device because it has a very small size, a size that is somewhat reminiscent of the latest versions of the HomePod, with a central button to unlock it and with a processor that complies with the services provided by Apple One.

Once I charged and turned it on, I started removing all the apps that I should have on my iPod, like calling apps, Mail, Wallet, ie everything that reminds of iPhone and not iPod. Of course, in the center of my dock I have left Apple Music and I looked in the trunk of my memories for the lightning connector to 3.5 mm jack, because, like all good nostalgic, the iPod was listened to with wired headphones.

Finally, I removed the SIM card as the iPod couldn’t receive messages and because I wanted to feel a very complete experience, I turned off all the notifications that could reach my iPhone in System Settings.

Necessary adjustments

Once I disabled all the features that might remind me of my iPhone, I connected my iPod to my home Wi-Fi network and began downloading my favorite music charts. Since we don’t have access to data, we have to have the music downloaded. But first, I downloaded the most classic iPod backgrounds online, to add it to my new phone/iPod.

Finally, I went to the music settings of my iPod to configure it under specific parameters depending on the music that I have downloaded because the iPod is going to be my music player and it has to give me an experience as similar as possible to the of yore.
