This is the PC you need to play F1 2022: leaked requirements

The 2022 F1 season is being really entertaining where the dominant team in recent years has already been beaten by Max Verstappen’s Red Bull. This year the rival has changed and it will not be Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes who will compete for the victory, but at the same time the differences have narrowed and it is being more fun and closer. This is making many users look forward to the game to pc and consoles, and because of this the requirements of this F1 2022.

Do you want to drive the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc? Verstappen’s Red Bull? Alonso’s Alpine? Well, you will be able to do it at full speed through the best circuits in the world, even the most mythical from July 1, in just over a month, but in the meantime prepare your PC for it, since if you want to do it with Ray Tracing you may have to buy a new GPU.

F1 2022 for PC, high or optimal requirements?

Codemaster is going to approach this game from a continuity point of view, which means that the requirements remain similar to those of the 2021 version except for minor changes. The engine as such has not been changed, it has been optimized and therefore what we will see is a game that follows the path of the previous ones, demanding little CPU and relative graphic power that is very focused on the use (or not) of the Ray Tracing.

Therefore, in minimum requirements what we will see is simply an increase in the performance of the graphics cards in both sections, with and without RT, while the CPU is maintained as well as the amount of RAM to use.

The curious thing is that these graphics card sections at the recommended level (we understand that to play it at 1080p and 60 FPS) have not changed from version 2021 to this new 2022, while those necessary to play with RT have made a leap more than high, which we are going to see now.

Minimum requirements for F1 2022

  • Processor -> AMD FX 4300 or Intel Core i3-2130
  • RAM memory -> 8GB
  • Graphics card -> AMD RX 470 or NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti
  • Graphics card for Ray Tracing -> AMD RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA RTX 2060

As we can see, everything is quite affordable until we reach the dreaded RT, where the increase in range and price for graphics cards is exponential, since we go from low-end to mid-range or medium-high with 5 times its previous value.

Recommended Requirements

  • Processor -> AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5-9600K
  • RAM memory -> 16 GB
  • Graphics card -> AMD RX 590 or NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
  • Graphics card with Ray Tracing -> AMD RX 6800 or NVIDIA RTX 3070

Something similar happens here, although the jump in AMD is smaller in NVIDIA it is quite bulky. This leaves us with some pretty lurid perspectives on what to expect for high resolutions and high FPS, where we may have to stock up on the best of each house in terms of graphics cards if we want to have an optimal or very good gaming experience.

In addition to the above, we will need 80GB of free space on the SSD or HDD and have at least Windows 10 in its 64-bit version.
