This is the smallest 3D printer in the world, only 41mm tall!

3D printers have become one of the essential components in small businesses and workshops, as it allows them to have access and small-scale manufacturing of parts to solve specific problems or to develop their businesses on a small scale. For this we have them specialized in different materials and with different sizes. However, Today we bring you the smallest 3D printer in the world.

Many of you will ask yourself, why do I want such a tiny printer that I can carry in my pocket? Well, to be able to print very small objects for tiny objects, but with high precision and still preserving all the necessary detail to do so. Let’s not forget that these devices have a size limit in terms of the parts they can manufacture and not only in how big they are, but also vice versa. This is where the model we are talking about comes into play.

Sadly, it is not a business modelbut it is a construction made by a user who calls himself “My N Mi” and has shown it on his YouTube channel. We do not know how he has manufactured it, but such miniaturization capacity has powerfully caught our attention. What’s more, it is not, apparently, a hoax, since it has shown its operation on video, which you can see below these lines.

As you can see, it is a resin SLA type printer, which is capable of creating a detailed model in a few minutes. At first glance we can tell that it has been built with custom parts made with other 3D printers. Although due to its small size, certain pieces may have had to be made by hand. If it is the first case, then this would mean that the world’s smallest 3D printer could be easily built from other larger models.

We have to say that we have been shocked by how small it is, so much so that it seems impossible for it to be fully functional. It is a pity that it is only a model created by one person. Honestly, we wish we could carry it as a key ring or have it stored in a drawer. You never know if it will be good to print that screw you lost when assembling that piece of furniture.

What are your specifications?

Well, in summary, the specifications of the smallest printer in the world are the following:

  • can build models up to 11 x 11 x 17 mm
  • 0.135mm precision
  • Resolution per layer from 0.0005 to 0.3 mm
  • It is not taller than an SD card in terms of size.
  • As for the interface, it uses a MicroUSB port on the back of it.

In any case, it must be clarified that certain elements such as the control circuitry are outside the world’s smallest 3D printer in order to fulfill its main premise. If we take into account its specifications, it does not stand out from other large ones, but if we think of several of them working in unison to create basic parts for more complex systems.
