[Le Deal du Jour] At the last CES 2021, LG showcased several OLED TV ranges, including the A1 series, which features a 48-inch model that’s ideal for small interiors. During the sales, the price of the LG OLED48A1 benefits from a reduction of 400 euros, dropping it from 1,499 euros to 1,099 euros on Darty, Boulanger and Fnac.

OLED offers the best image quality to date with infinite blacks, well-detailed contrasts and excellent color rendering. It is therefore not uncommon to find certain televisions at very high prices. Fortunately, more affordable (or almost) references are available on the market, and even from flagship manufacturers who have mastered this technology perfectly. This is the case with LG, which recently unveiled several OLED TV ranges, including the A1 range. Despite some concessions to make, the OLED48A1 model has a more than interesting technical sheet.

Launched at 1,499 euros, the LG OLED48A1 TV is now available at 1,099 euros at Darty, Boulanger and at Fnac during the sales.

To better understand the offer

  • What are the main features of the LG OLED48A1 TV?

As its name suggests, the LG OLED48A1 TV has a diagonal of only 48 inches. LG was also the first brand to offer an OLED TV of this size, this technology having previously been intended for larger screen diagonals. People living in small spaces will still be able to enjoy the infinite blacks and ultra-detailed contrasts of the OLED, without having to mobilize an entire wall. Otherwise, this 4K HDR TV offers compatibility with some of the best video standards, such as HDR10 (but not HDR10 +) and Dolby Vision.

This model being more affordable than the other ranges recently launched by LG, it will embed the 4th generation Alpha 7 processor, which will take care of the optimization of image processing. If it is slightly less efficient than the Alpha 9, which equips the more expensive series of the manufacturer, we will still be entitled to a detailed rendering and good adjustments in terms of images and sound. Regarding the audio quality precisely, we will benefit from a Dolby Atmos emulation.

  • What more can I say?

If you are looking for a television for gaming, the LG OLED48A1 TV may not be the most suitable, since it does not include HDMI 2.1 ports, allowing 4K @ 120fps. Therefore, it is not designed for next-gen consoles. Those who simply want a TV to watch programs, series and other films, on the other hand, will be quite satisfied.

On the operating system side, this model will run on webOS 6.0, which is still as intuitive as ever. A host of flagship applications will naturally be available, such as the most famous streaming platforms. The TV will also be compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa, AirPlay 2 (to stream content from a smartphone or tablet) and HomeKit. Finally, the Magic Remote will be provided, always equipped with its handy on-screen pointer.
