We strongly advise you to closely monitor your bank statements in the coming days. Indeed, a scam is currently wreaking havoc on many victims, whose accounts are being decked out with SEPA direct debits of several hundred euros for which they have never given authorization. Fortunately, it is quite easy to protect against this type of attack.
The thing is enough to make you pale. For the past few days, many people have had the very unpleasant surprise of seeing an unknown charge on their bank account, from 300 € up to more than 600 € for the unluckiest. All are presented in the same way: “European ENS direct debit”. Some have even hit the jackpot, with two direct debits in one day. But who is behind this mysterious ENS company?
Officially, the latter claims to have carried out “maintenance work in the wording of operations » — whatever that means. In reality, we are indeed facing a particularly sneaky scam. Indeed, where some schemes claim that some kind of reimbursement awaits you, the latter makes these victims believe that this debit takes place within the framework of usual banking operations.
Don’t wait to ask for a refund in the event of a direct debit scam
Thus, as our colleagues from RTL explain, there is every reason to believe that hackers had access to a database containing numerous IBANs. Thanks to the latter, all they have to do is order a transfer from the banks to their famous company. While this hypothesis is certainly chilling, it is also good news for all victims: it means that they can get reimbursed quickly.

As the specialized site Signal-Arnaques specifies, ‘sIf you have not authorized the debit through the signature (physical or electronic) of a mandate, it is a diversion of your means of payment. However, in this case, the monetary code is unambiguous: the bank must reimburse you as soon as possible. »
In the event that this fraudulent charge appears on your account statements, you therefore have up to 8 weeks from the date of collection to dispute it with your bank. The latter will cancel the operation and you will be fully refunded the amount.
Is this a bug, an error or a scam? In any case, the complaints arrive in number at Signal Arnaques on this subject.
Good news, though: it’s pretty easy to fix. pic.twitter.com/KRkdTgepdT— Signal-Arnaques (@SignalArnaques) April 25, 2023
