This version of Windows 11 works with 2 GB of RAM

Windows 11 is an operating system that requires a minimum of 4 GB to work “with guarantees”, in quotes because as we have already told you on previous occasions, if we only reach that minimum the user experience will not be truly optimal, and as soon as we turn on the equipment we will see that we have almost all the RAM occupied even if we are not doing nothing.

The fact is that with some adjustments it has been possible to create a version of Windows 11, known as Tiny11, that works without problems on computers that are configured with only 2 GB of RAM, And best of all, it doesn’t even require a TPM 2.0 chip to work. This version comes from the hand of independent developer NTDEVwho says that he has taken Windows 11 Pro 22H2 as the basis for his development, and that he has introduced important changes so that it can work well on computers with “old” hardware.

Among the most important changes, including those that we have already mentioned, the compression of system files so they take up less spacethe removal of some pre-installed applications that are not important (the ones that are are kept, such as the calculator, accessibility features, the camera application and others), and it is not necessary to have a Core processor Gen8 or Zen+ to be able to install this version of Windows 11.

Windows 11 2GB RAM

Those responsible for this project confirm that it is possible to install security updates officially, but that we will not be able to update this version of Windows 11 with the big annual patches that introduce new features and other improvements. Undoubtedly an interesting option to give a second life to those old PCs that we have at home or in the office, and also to create virtual machines with a very low consumption of resources.

Some experts have managed to move Windows 11 even in configurations with only 200 MB of RAM memory, but in these cases the sacrifice that must be made at the level of performance and functions is so great that it is not directly worth it.
