First of all we have to talk about the highest-end processors, mainly because that is what has been leaked: There will be three options from Intel and two from AMD, which depend on the size of this Surface Laptop 5. For the version of 13, 5 inches Microsoft offers us the i5-1240P or the i7-1280P, and in the red team the Ryzen 5 6680U with six cores.
On the other hand, for the larger version with 15 inches we will have two high-performance options: i7-1280P and the Ryzen 7 6980U with eight cores, almost nothing. As for memory options, these will be shared for both sizes of the laptop with 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR4X, something that is only understood from the point of view of the scarcity of LPDDR5.
The GPUs will logically be iGPUs inside the processors, so we will also have a decent performance in this section. Regarding storage, the filtering ensures that there will be three options to choose from, all being SSDs, but what type is not specified, although due to the dimensions we should be talking about M.2 or NVMe with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.

What is also striking is the resolution and Hz that this Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 can offer, something where the company wants to compete with Apple and therefore is going to put more fuel on the fire.
The 13.5-inch version will have a resolution of 2256×1504 pixels in 3:2 format, while the 15-inch goes up to the 2496×1664 in the same format, figures totally outside the industry standards as has become usual in the brand. This is a qualitative leap that is quite noticeable in gaming, especially if we play with a high FPS rate in low settings. As for its battery, the leak reveals that we will have 58Wh as nominal capacity, while the minimum is encrypted in 56.3Whnot bad since the official autonomies give between 19 hours and 17.5 hours of battery with typical use.
Finally we will talk about the capabilities of inputs, outputs and various technologies, starting with Thunderbolt 4, essential today and for the future, or for example WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 or USB 4several points in favor here against Apple without a doubt.
However, there are no price ranges or release dates, we will have to wait a little longer to know them, but it certainly leaves a great impression.
