Undoubtedly, the vast majority of us have Netflix thanks to the fact that we share the subscription. This possibility has always been offered by the company. And she’s even joked about it in some of her own series, so it’s never been a problem for her, until now. For a little over a year, the company has been threatening users with ending the account sharing function, although it has not finished making a move, until now. And it is that, finally, we already know how much it is going to cost us to share our account with other people, making us rethink if it is still worth it.
Netflix doesn’t get the bills. And so it is making several changes to its services with the intention of increasing revenue (although, in reality, it will have the opposite effect). Thus, this month we have seen a new cheaper plan announced, without HD, and with advertising before, during and after the series or movie that we are watching. In addition, we have also seen a new function that will allow us to migrate our profile to another account in case we want to “become independent” and take the data to another account.
Now, we have finally seen Netflix’s new move, and we didn’t like it at all. And it is that, if we are going to share the account, we will have to pay for each home where you go to see. And it won’t be exactly cheap.
3 euros per month for each additional household to watch Netflix
Although at the moment Netflix is only testing this new functionality in three countries, Chile, Costa Rica and Peru, we can get an idea of what is cooking in its offices. And it is that, users who share their accounts in these countries will have to pay 2.99 dollars for each additional person with whom they are going to share the account.
At the moment we do not know if this price will be maintained, will rise or fall in the face of the arrival of this new rate. But what we do know is that it could enter into force in early 2023and the price that would surely remain the normal exchange rate of 2.99 euros.
So how much would Netflix 4K cost to share with 3 other people? Let’s make accounts. The Premium mode of this platform costs 17.99 euros per month. And usually we share it with 4 people. That is, each one pays 4.49 euros per month. With the new fee, we imagine that the first device is included in the 17.99 euros per month, so that monthly price would have to be added 8.97 euros (2.99 euros fee for the 3 additional people with whom we are going to share it. For Therefore, the total monthly price will be 26.96 euros per month the Netflix 4K shared between 4 people (us and three others).
And, if we divide what we would have to pay each one, we get a fee of 6.74 euros per month.
Worth? Obviously it is still cheaper than the basic plan, and we also have the addition of 4K (something that is a shame that it is not in all plans). Therefore, if we often see this platform, and we can afford those two and a half euros more per month, then yes.
Although it is still time to ask ourselves if it is not worth it start paying for Netflix in Turkish lira. Since the 4K edition is 4.5 euros per month and, as much as they charge for each additional home, we do not believe that it means an extra euro for each user. In total, it will be around 2 euros per month with the company’s new abusive rate.
