TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra: a good goal for Wear OS

Devices like this Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra are, in my opinion, which has been waiting for the market for a long time. And it is that, I have already commented on other occasions, I think that except for a few manufacturers, as is mainly the case of Samsung, an important part of the sector seems to have given up on the aspiration to offer a high-end that offers an alternative to the all-powerful proposal of those from Cupertino, which today seems to be the company that feels most comfortable in the high-end of this sector.

Last May brought us very good news, when Google opened its Google I / O this year announced news for Wear OS, the operating system that, up to that point, he seemed semi-abandoned by the company. And this was much more important than it might seem at first, since in this way it was letting manufacturers know that they could count on developments in this regard and, therefore, that it was worth staying in this market and aim for a high-end with devices like this TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra from Mobvoi, which in turn has been betting on Wear OS for some time.

And what does this smartwatch offer us? Well, first of all, a more than remarkable quality-price ratio, to the point that I would dare to consider it one of the best on the market. And it is that when talking about the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra we are faced with a device with outstanding features and characteristics that, however, has a price that makes it available to many users for whom other options, obviously more expensive, are totally out of budget.

Inside the box of the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, built with stainless steel and heavy duty nylon with fiberglass, we found a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 SoC which is supported by Mobvoi’s dual processor system, accompanied by 1 gigabyte of RAM and 8 gigabytes of storage. These components share space with a wide catalog of sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, HD PPG heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, low latency sensor and barometer.

As for its connectivity, this is undoubtedly one of its strengths, and it is that in addition to Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi: 802.11b / g / n, this TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra has 4G LTE connectivity, so you can also use it directly as a phone, in addition to not needing Wi-Fi connectivity to stay connected to the Internet and, in this way, being able to continue offering all its functions at any time. And there is still more, since it also has a positioning system, and is compatible with GPS, Galileo, Glonass, Beidou, and QZSS networks.

As for its screen, Mobvoi repeats its already classic two-screen system, an FSTN for the always-on function, and another circular AMOLED, 1.4 inches and a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, with a density of 326 dots per inch. And its design is not only attractive, we are also talking about a resistant device, since this TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra has obtained the certifications IP68 and MIL-STD-810G Military grade, which means it is resistant to extreme temperatures, shock, humidity and heavy use.

The autonomy of the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra is based on a 577 milliamp battery It can provide up to 72 hours in Smart Mode or 45 days in Essential Mode, a mode of operation in which the use of applications is limited.

Although smartwatches are, in principle, general-purpose devices, it is indisputable that they have found a particularly effective niche in the areas of health and sports. To this end, the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra constantly monitors heart rate, with alarm functions if it detects an anomaly, assesses the user’s energy level and, something very interesting, has a metric that assesses mental fatigue. All this information can be consulted directly on the watch or, if you prefer, in the app for smartphones.

Additionally, it also has more than 20 training modes, with which in addition to being able to save a history of our activities, we can review the statistics of our performance in real time, which will allow us to make adjustments on the fly to improve its effectiveness. The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra will also generate reports of these training sessions after we have finished them.

The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra with 4G is already on sale on the Mobvoi website and on Amazon, and its price is 359.99 euros.
