TikTok and PUBG are now banned in Afghanistan. The Taliban believe that the two applications are wasting people’s time and helping to corrupt young people, who have already been deprived of TV series and music for months.
Last August, the Taliban entered Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The Islamist insurgents then regained control of the country to impose their law there. Quickly, the terrorist group decreed draconian measures against the Afghan people.
The Taliban have notably closed secondary schools for girls and banned women unaccompanied by a male relative from flying. At the same time, the regime banned certain foreign sources of information, such as the BBC. In summary, the fundamentalists erased 20 years of freedom in a few months.

Taliban accuse TikTok and PUBG of tricking young people
In this context, the Taliban have just banned TikTok, the favorite social network of 18-25 year olds, and the fighting video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). “The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is required to block PUBG games and an app called TikTok which misleads the younger generation”explains Inamullah Samangani, deputy central spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Both mobile apps have been exceedingly popular with young Afghans for banning foreign music and TV series. “We have received a lot of complaints about how the TikTok app and PUBG game are wasting people’s time”justifies Inamullah Samangani.
This is the first time that the Islamist regime has taken the decision to ban a mobile application. The measure is part of a draconian arsenal aimed at imposing religious law in the country. In the process, the Taliban also asked television channels to stop spreading immoral content. The television offer in Afghanistan, however, is limited to religious programs and current affairs.
9 million Afghans would have access to the Internet, i.e. 23% of the population, which stands at 38 million. Among them, 4 million Internet users use social networks, reveals the specialized site DataReportal. Facebook obviously stands out as the most popular network.
