It’s no longer a secret for anyone: TikTok intends to replace YouTube one day. For this, the application is constantly renewed with a lot of new features inspired by its big sister, sometimes even abandoning what made its original identity. However, TikTok does not intend to stop there and is now targeting moviegoers and other TV series fans, who are increasingly numerous on its platform.

Several types of content are indeed interested in this universe, whether it is analysis or quite simply montages in homage to the favorite works of their creators. Problem: these videos are regularly bombarded with comments asking the author to provide the name of such a film or such a series. That’s why TikTok is preparing to make their lives a whole lot easier.

TikTok allows you to directly indicate the name of films and series in videos

Indeed, starting today, US and UK users have access to a new option when posting their videos. This allows you to tag the film or series that appears in the latter. The name will then appear on the video, giving viewers the option to click on it. Once done, they will have access to a lot of information about the work in question.

To develop this feature, TikTok has signed a partnership with IMDb in order to have access to its database. Thus, users clicking on the name of the film or series will be able to view the actors who are there, the person who made the work, the rating given by the users, etc. Finally, TikTok will offer other videos containing the tag of the specified work in a dedicated tab. It is not yet known when this feature will be available in France.
