Tom Holland stars in series about mental illness

Currently starring in Uncharted, Tom Holland has been announced for the casting of a series for Apple TV+ with Amanda Seyfried and Emmy Rossum.

He is on all the dates. After catapulting the box office with Spider-Man: No Way Home and Uncharted, Tom Holland will make a new foray into Apple TV+. The actor will star in The Crowded Room, a series he will also produce alongside Akiva Goldsman. It is only the second time in his career that the young actor plays in a series. In 2015, he was in the cast of Dans L’Ombre des Tudors, broadcast on Arte in our green regions.

With The Crowded Room, he operates a change of register since the series composed of 10 episodes will address the theme of mental disorders. We will follow Rya, a clinical psychologist facing the biggest challenge of her career. She has to juggle her life as a single mother and her patients, whom she always puts first.

According to Apple’s description, the series “will explore the inspiring stories of those who have battled and learned to live with mental illness”. The plot is inspired by Akiva Goldsman’s own life and biography The Minds of Billy Milliganwritten by Daniel Keyes in 1981.

Alongside Tom Holland, we will find Amanda Seyfried in the lead role. Emmy Rossum, famous for playing Fiona in the series Shameless, will also be there. Behind the scenes is Kornel Mundrunczo (Pieces of a Woman) who will realize.

No release date yet

For now, the project is in development. Apple TV+ has therefore not given the broadcast date of its new production. It must be said that Tom Holland is rather busy, he has more than one project on fire. He was recently announced to star in a Fred Astaire biopic. The young actor will play the Hollywood legend. A project still very mysterious, since no director has yet been announced.
