On the sidelines of the launch of the Redmi Note 11 series in France, Xiaomi formalizes the release of the Redmi Buds 3. A new pair of affordable wireless headphones, inspired by the AirPods 3.

Xiaomi continues to multiply the references of smartphones or headphones, and has once again just proven it. The Chinese brand has just launched its Redmi Note 11 in France (read our test), a new affordable and particularly attractive series. It includes the Redmi Note 11, Note 11S and Note 11 Pro (5G). In addition to adding a new smartphone to its catalog, Xiaomi has just launched its new wireless headphones.

A design inspired by that of the AirPods

The Redmi Buds 3 once again want to stand out for their value for money; and a design heavily inspired by that of the first and second generation AirPods. Apple’s headphones are a source of inspiration, with a so-called “open-fit” format making the bar to a rod at the bottom of the earpiece.

An alternative to in-ear headphones for the Redmi Buds 3 which therefore do not enter the ear canal. For its new headphones, Xiaomi relies on 12 nm drivers and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The Buds 3 support SBC and AAC codecs, and feature a dual microphone with Qualcomm cVC technology. This presence aims to bring out the voice during calls by suppressing surrounding noise. On the other hand, they do not have passive isolation or active noise reduction.

A classic approach for these lightweight headphones (4.5 g each) which has an IP54 certification to better resist dust or splashes. Each headset has a touch surface to access controls to manage calls or music. With a Xiaomi smartphone, it is possible to access a quick pairing system and certain settings, such as an equalizer.

A contained price for the Xiaomi Buds 3

The Chinese manufacturer announces an autonomy of 5 hours with a single charge. The box will bring about three additional charges, to bring the total to 20 hours of listening. A charge of 10 minutes will offer the possibility of recovering 1h30 of listening.

The Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 are already available at a price of 49.99 euros. For the launch, they benefit from an offer which brings the price down to 39.99 euros. Like Apple’s AirPods, they’re only available in white and join the Redmi Buds 3 Pro.
