Trust presents Muta, an economical and quite versatile controller

The Trust Muta is presented as a quite interesting control because it is aimed directly at the market of medium-low rangewhere position as an economical but quite complete and versatile option. This is important because, in the end, even when we are looking for a cheap product, there are certain minimums that we should not exceed, since if we do, it is very likely that we will end up regretting our purchase.

This control knob is available in two different versions, one wired, which is the cheaper of the two, and one wireless, which is a bit more expensive. The two versions of the Trust Muta have a number of features in common that we are going to review below:

  • Made of plastic (with 75% recycled materials).
  • Pressure sensitive triggers.
  • Interchangeable directional crosshead to better adapt it to our needs and preferences.
  • Vibration adaptable.
  • Ergonomic design with rough surface to improve grip.
  • Motion sensor for seamless use with Nintendo Switch.

In terms of design, the Trust Muta has a classic line and place the analog sticks on the same vertical line. That position is the one used by the PlayStation controllers, and it clearly differs from what we can find on the Xbox controllers, where the left analog stick is in a higher position than the right. The layout of the buttons also follows the classic scheme, so we won’t have to go through any adaptation period.

Trust Muta

The wireless version of the Trust Muta has a integrated battery that offers up to 10 hours of autonomy, and comes with a 3 meter charging cable. We can use it in three different ways, with the USB cable, as if it were a wired unit, with the USB receiver in the 2.4 GHz band and via Bluetooth.

This model is compatible with mobile devices based on Android and iOS, and also with PC and Nintendo Switch. Its price is €39.99, a figure that is not bad for what we can find on the market within its price range. The wired model is more economical, since it is priced at €29.99and I think it is the most interesting option of the two for PC gamers who are looking for an affordable controller but without giving up a minimum of quality and features.
