Twitter shuts down its TweetDeck app for Macs on July 1

A decision that has taken everyone by surprise, and that is still a bit strange. It is possible that it will appear again shortly, but integrated into the paid subscription prepared by Twitter: Twitter Blue… So maybe in a little while, if you want to use TwitterDeck again, you will have to dig deep into your pocket….

Today the users of the TweetDeck application for macOS have been able to see when they have started the app how a banner appeared on their screen announcing that said Twitter client software will stop working in early July.

The following text appears on said digital poster: «TweetDeck for Mac says goodbye. As of July 1st, the TweetDeck app for Mac will be removed. You can still access TweetDeck on the web» Ball point, without further explanation.

This movement is very strange, since it is an application that works very well, and that exploits Twitter even more on the big screens of Macs. It may be a strategic move by the company. soon Twitter Blue will be launched, which will have more functions than the usual twitter and will be paid monthly. TweetDeck may reappear integrated in the new account «Premium» from TwitterBlue.

Alternatives to TweetDeck

So soon, we suggest a couple of alternatives if you were used to using TweetDeck and you are not convinced to use it via the web.

One of them is the Tweeten app. It is based on TweetDeck for you to continue using the powerful column-based interface. It also has many customization options, interactive notifications, multiple account support, scheduled tweets, advanced search, etc.

The other alternative is create a Mac app from the web version. Unite for macOS lets you do just that. Additionally, the app allows you to customize websites as you turn them into Mac apps with light or dark mode, as well as window, title, and color control.
