Netflix revealed the release period of Ultraman 2, the second season of the anime based on the Ultraman manga by Eiichi Shimizu And Tomohiro Shimoguchi, work that already in 1966 was transposed into a mythical tokusatsu series giving life to one of the longest-running franchises ever.
The announcement came in the course of Tudum, the global livestream event dedicated to the “red N” fandom during which the new promotional image of season 2 was also unveiled.
Ultraman 2 debuts on Netflix in 2022
The anime will premiere in the spring of 2022 on Netflix in all countries where the service is active.

As recalled by ANN, Kenji Kamiyama(Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, Napping Princess) e Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Harlock: Space Pirate, Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) return as directors of the second season of Ultraman at Production IG after having already directed the first one.

Several years have passed since the events of Ultraman, with the legendary Giant of Light (光 の 巨人 Hikari no Kyojin) now a legend, who is thought to have returned to his home after battling the many alien giants that have threatened the Earth.
Shin Hayata’s son, Shinjiro, appears to possess a particular ability, and this peculiarity, coupled with his father’s revelation that he is Ultraman, drives Shinjiro to battle aliens trying to invade Earth as the new Ultraman!
The first season of the anime, consisting of 13 episodes, is available on Netflix Italy where it debuted in April 2019.
